Heey all, my name is Elena. My friend Amilie [the more mature one] and I made this blog after talking over how many great books there are out there, and how many of them aren't on the right shelves. I am a big fan of Mystery, Fantasy and Science Fiction. And all I find on those shelves of the local Books-A-Mil is the Clique novels and other annoying stereotypical highschool crap. I end up going to the adults and to the childrens shelves. Many of the books on the teen shelf lack solid, believable, rolemodel sheroes.
Anyway to get to the point, whenever I finish a book, no matter what the book, I will review it here for you. My friend Amilie will do the same with the books she reads. We welcome anyone to contribute their opinions on the books, suggest good books for us to feature, ask questions, or just say hi. We love that. :]
I do play favorites. I have a bunch of authors whom I love and read over and over and over. I also am biased against certain genres, so if I review a book negatively, it's because I'm usually predisposed. ;D Yes, I am a bit sexist when it comes to books, I mostly read female main characters, and things written by females. That doesn't mean I don't like books about male heroes or with male authors, but I tend to gravitate more towards sheroes books.
Occasionally, we will throw a bit of real life into the mix.
